Teacher Simulator Has Surpasses 100 Million Downloads
Kwalee celebrates significant milestone and the game’s impactful contribution to education and charity
20 December 2023
Leamington Spa, UK - 20 December 2023 - Kwalee, leading global game developer and publisher, is happy to announce that its hit mobile game, Teacher Simulator,
has surpassed 100 million downloads. Launched in November 2020, this engaging and innovative game quickly established itself as a major title in mobile games, earning top rankings in countries including the USA and the UK.
Developed under the leadership of Simon Platt, Head of Development, and Gabriel Tanasic, Head of Design, Teacher Simulator has become synonymous with Kwalee's ethos of transforming simple concepts into global gaming phenomena.
Simon Platt articulated the company’s pride in the game’s success:
“Teacher Simulator exemplifies the core ethos of Kwalee - remarkable success derived from straightforward concepts. The initial concept, which involved using your finger to draw and interact in the game, evolved into an immersive simulation experience that grants players the autonomy to adopt cruel or kind roles at their discretion. Witnessing the game get four million downloads within the first month was a clear indicator of its extraordinary potential. However, hitting a 100 million milestone shows it has truly resonated with players.”
He also adds:
It is important to acknowledge that Teacher Simulator is a direct result of our development team’s dedication to excellence. The game’s triumph can be attributed to their meticulous commitment to crafting delightful animations and making deliberate design choices.”
Teacher Simulator invites players into a virtual classroom where they experience the challenges and joys of teaching. This unique concept was conceived by the creative minds at Kwalee, offering players a blend of nostalgia and new experiences in the realm of education.
Besides its success as a game, Teacher Simulator has also had a significant positive impact on social causes. During 2021, Kwalee pledged to support FareShare, a charity fighting child food poverty and endorsed by footballer Marcus Rashford. The company committed 100% of its UK profits from the game’s advertisements and in-app purchases in the first week of the new school term to FareShare, at a time when the COVID pandemic lockdowns were deeply affecting the education of young people.
This contribution was highly appreciated by FareShare, with their Commercial Director Alyson Walsh acknowledging the significant difference made through this partnership. She said:
“After a year where understanding the importance of school-aged children receiving nutritious food has come under the spotlight, we are extremely grateful to Kwalee for donating 100% of UK profits from their Teacher Simulator game as children return to remote schooling. FareShare’s work with Breakfast, After School and Holiday Clubs each year help vulnerable children access the food they need to learn, grow and thrive.”
As Teacher Simulator continues to entertain, Kwalee wishes to express deep thanks to its hard working development team. Their dedication and creativity have been crucial to the game's great success.
Teacher Simulator is available for free on the App Store and Google Play.
